Information We Collect

Information you provide

• Display name — an optional first name you can enter for a personal touch. Stored on your device only.
• Game progress — plates you've spotted and your trivia scores. Stored on your device only.

Information collected automatically

• Anonymous usage analytics — which game modes are played, session length. Aggregated, not linked to identity.
• Crash and performance data — via Sentry, includes device type and OS version. Not linked to identity.

Information we do NOT collect

• Email addresses or phone numbers
• Location data (precise or approximate)
• Contacts
• Photos, camera, or microphone access
• Health data or advertising identifiers
• Any personal information from children under 13 beyond an optional first name

How We Use Information

• To deliver the App's features — plate tracking and trivia.
• To improve the App through anonymous, aggregated analytics.
• To diagnose and fix crashes.

Sharing of Information

We do not sell, rent, or share personal information with third parties for marketing. We use these service providers for App operation only, sharing the minimum data required:

• Vercel — web hosting for our website and the web version of the game.
• Sentry — anonymous crash and error monitoring.

We may disclose information if required by law or to protect the rights or safety of Berry App Labs or users.

Children's Privacy (COPPA)

Plate Spotter is designed for families, including children under 13. We intentionally collect no personal information from any user beyond an optional first name stored locally. There is no account creation, no social networking, no chat, no user-generated content shared publicly, no third-party advertising, and no behavioral profiling. Parents who believe we have inadvertently collected personal information from their child may contact info@berryapplabs.com for immediate deletion.

Your Choices

• Reset the App: Settings → Reset. All local game data is erased.
• Opt out of analytics: Settings → Privacy → Disable Analytics.
• Play offline: The game works fully offline, so airplane mode is no problem.

International Users

Plate Spotter is operated from the United States. If you access the App from outside the U.S., your anonymous usage data may be processed in the United States. By using the App, you consent to this transfer. We comply with GDPR for European users.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects the most recent revision. Material changes will be announced in-App.
